1 John 2:15-17 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world - the cravings of sinful man, he has and does - comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.
You question yourself in utter bitterness. You think you've planned out your future and what you've got ahead seemed perfect. Then you get into a place you don't want to be and you begin that rampage of self seeking indulgence. Later you realise, although in that completely empty, lifeless place, you find everything else a lot more meaningful to you; your friends and your family. Things start to seemingly pick themselves up. Thereafter, you notice a call to leave everything behind and go to a place where you won't find a trace of home.
"It won't make you feel a lot better but you've got a purpose." That purpose gave me light, friend, and I will go.
Would you? Job did. He didn't have a choice. Everything was taken away completely from him and in it, he was still able to praise the Lord : "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." Evil put sores all over him. He sat among the ashes and scraped himself with broken pottery. When his wife asked him to curse God and die, he said "You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?
In all this Job showed his faithfulness. Behind it all, the Lord was glad and said Job was "blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil. And he still maintains his integrity"
I will wait for light in the darkness I will wait for hope in the depths of the depraved I will look upon sin with unguarded disdain In it, my lips will not stop praising You with a new song!
