Relentless leader-disciple. I never expected it to be so relaxed this year. But it was JUST. WHAT. I. NEEDED. I was so drained and burnt and...I know what you mean Andrew. My mentor group was just so supportive in spirit and when prayer begins, it just goes and you can tell that everyone spoke not from themselves but from the outflow of the spirit. GROUP 12!!!
Pastor Rupert meant business when he said "Sing a song sister." I mean, how would you react if someone told you that?! This ain't no gospel church yo. I just put down my stuff, sat farther out of my seat and prayed a 2 second prayer. Words flowed out of my mouth..."Jesus, all for Jesus..." "There's some heart there." he said. It was then it all turned. My heart was focused, my mind was clear and my soul rested in that moment.
Then ministry night came. My heart was still waivering with distractions - pitching, tone, harmony, disharmony. It bothered me. Then lady-with-scarf (I think she was from Trinity Methodist, forgot her name) came to pray for me after someone else. The first words pierced right into my heart "God loves you". I mean, its simple enough right? How does one forget that? I did. She hugged me and I sobbed like a fussy baby. "Do not believe the lies of the devil." - It can't be... "Don't destroy yourself...He thinks you are beautiful." - OMG. A divine intervention and holy transaction took place. :)
Here are the fun parts. 1) Jon Choy mistook a flower vase for a bottle of chinese vinegar. 2) Glenn got scared by girls' underwear 3) Pastor Reuben told everyone the malay-english translation for the place we were at meant "white tent with mechanical rat" 4) Only Clement was Clement Sim. The rest of us were Pastor Reuben NG, Dwight CHEW, Elizabeth CHIA, David TAY, Sara ANG, Luke WEE, Charlene OOI, etc. (said with an exclaimation of the caps)
