I sat by the pool side waiting. Just waiting. The night reflecting itself in the glistening chlorine filled hole. I sat and waited, and waited……and waited. Then you came with work in one hand and your dog trailing behind. She was magnificent and your best friend, but just a pet. You sat at the opposite side of the fountain, the only thing in my way. It was dark and I could hardly see. I walked one way, and it was blocked but realized there was another opening at the other end. I found my way, somehow and sat beside you. It was heaven for a moment. And only a moment in your arms.
She awoke with her breathing still tensed and heaved but that moment never left her.
