I was just watching the Hillsong dvd, This is our God, (I knew I should have bought it!) Jill Mccloghry was giving her testimony and talking about worship in general and her experience. She was saying how all the worships that led up to album day she just kept singing and singing hoping to sing her way to freedom despite the feeling that was weighing her down. It was a stand she took to show the devil that he lost. Then came album day and when she sang, everything was lifted.
This made me think a little. There were so many times many of us thought of giving up - giving up on our job, studies, ministry, practices, friends, family, even lives. And there was just one thing that hit me. Why fast track TO heaven when we can dwell in that place forever til we get there? The solution? Worship.
We can bring heaven down in worship! Isn't that amazing? And all it takes is for EVERY. . . What was that? EVERY? Yes. EVERY heart to be turned to Jesus Christ the Anointed One. Lets not talk about want right now. There's something more important than want and that's a need. A need to fill your emptiness, a need to be forgiven of sin, a need to be renewed, restored and redeemed, a need to have someone to understand you, a need to have someone to make you happy when you're sad, a need to have someone who will listen and not disappoint you.
All these and MORE can be found in God.
Lets get back to worship. It is in worship that I feel most connected to Him, through my songs; through the songs of others. I feel His closeness to me. And when I want that every single moment of my life, I have to worship Him every single moment of my life.
Come worship with me all of you out there. Because there is nothing to fear in His presence, there is nothing that can take you away from that moment of forever.
